From Mead's point of you, Symbols are the basis of individual identity and social life. Mead never completed his PhD, and published very little during his life. However, he lectured at the university of Chicago for many years and was very influential. The book mind, self, and society (1934) Was collaborated by his students after his death.There are four key concepts I'll be discussing to meads theory in symbolic interactionism; Mind, Self, I & Me, and Role Taking.
